This Privacy Policy explains how 1M1S Express ("1M1S Express", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you use our mobile applications, website and related ride-hailing services (the "Services"). We operate primarily in Sefwi, Western Region of Ghana. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your name, phone number, email address and profile photo.
- Verification data — for drivers, this may include identity documents, vehicle details and licence information.
- Payment information — mobile money (MOMO) details or other payment data needed to process fares. Card or wallet data is handled by our payment partners; we do not store full payment credentials.
- Communications — messages, ratings, reviews and support requests you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Location data — precise GPS location of riders and drivers before, during and after a trip, used to match rides, navigate and track trips in real time.
- Device & usage data — device model, operating system, app version, IP address, identifiers, and how you interact with the Services.
- Trip data — pickup and drop-off points, routes, distance, time, fare and trip status.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, operate and improve the Services — connecting riders with nearby drivers.
- Enable real-time tracking, navigation and accurate ETAs.
- Process fares and payments (cash or mobile money) and issue receipts.
- Verify identity, promote safety and prevent fraud or misuse.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Send service-related notifications and, where permitted, promotional messages.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Services:
- Between riders and drivers — limited details (e.g. name, pickup location, contact) to complete a trip.
- Service providers — payment processors, mapping/navigation, cloud hosting, SMS and analytics partners who process data on our behalf.
- Legal and safety — where required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of users and the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
4. Location information
Location is central to a ride-hailing service. With your permission, we collect location data to match you with drivers, show trips on a map and calculate fares and ETAs. You can disable location access in your device settings, but core features of the Services may not work without it.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, including the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
